fighting is life

Fighting is life
Fighting is fun, it's hard and soft ,
it's intense and light ,
and you can’t be afraid of your opponent’s fast lightning strikes.
What makes you strong is
dedication and need
and how much you want to achieve your dream.
train to get fast,
train to get strong,
train to perfect what you are doing wrong
When you fight you use your mind
and body at the same time.
It's your choice to do wrong or right,
strength is shown when you don’t give up not when you carry a lot of weight
or can push a large big rock.
Courage is shown when you fight people big, small or tall,
regardless of their age regardless of their strength, regardless of their fame
or even if you're in pain.
Honor is shown even if you lose or win,
because you gave your best and you took it like a test- `
fighting until the end,
And the best man still stand.
It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or well trained.
Never show fear, never show pain.

My life is cancer

I am from snaky neighbor's, salty gossip , slimy haters
noisy trees, and corner fights

Jumping fences and running all night
getting in trouble for trespassing
and staying up until morning

I am from
if I whisper something under my breath
I’m gonna get smacked
from fighting older kids till
I get tough
getting yelled at for doing something wrong
and getting taught how to not let myself
get punked on

I have
good parents
Who taught me well
and educated me good
I am from respecting your mother like if shes god

sleepless nights
and seeking love till I can call someone mine
good laughs and tight hugs

not going home till it’s midnight
but studying till I get it right

I am from wanting to succeed

I am from anger and jealousy
learning from my mistakes ,
from my stupidity
and my regrets

Yet I come from a place
where you have to build walls
so you won’t get hurt
Now I am from fighting back and not let someone get to me

Invisible Me

I am from a place where
Dreams are battered, never to be completed
the hopes of those who are
poor and work just to stay alive
for their families are great
but few of them can continue
day in day out families leave losing
most of their friendships and their
once bright future.

Our home I was born and raised in
I slowly started to see
my friends disappear
Into the shadows of greed
I could not see
For even my family fell for it
Pushed out our own home
lost in a world we can’t see
breaking apart where my name was nothing but
I can only see a crimson red knife pierced through the dreams
Of what others once saw in themselves
Now being
Broken apart

As I see it all fall down

Always Pedaling

I slow down and notice everything when I bike a new road
I notice all of the new bumps
All of the speed limits
I start to notice all of the traffic or no traffic
I know when it is that i have to slow down before there’s a turn
I start to listen to everything
Listen to the traffic and people
How rough the road is
How many potholes and rocks there are
so next time i come i’m more aware.
I wonder if i can listen to music while riding here.
Racing on the streets is like nothing else
Going into a road at 30 mph and
Not knowing if cars can see you
Knowing you could get hit and killed
Is maybe one of the calmest feelings at that moment.
Nothing else matters when you're on that saddle with somebody else sharing that connection of speed and adrenaline.
At least here we get a chance to see where we’re going.
We know where to slow down and be cautious
We are able to stop ourselves before we make mistakes.

To a great loving father

To a Great Loving Father.
Without you,
I am a car without wheels.
Without you,
I am a fish without water.
You always raise me up,
never letting me touch the ground.
You make me feel loved.
I remember years ago
your strong shoulders carrying me
on summer nights.
I remember
your big warm jacket,
Like the blanket I pulled up to my nose on rainy nights.
You have always sacrificed your free time and work time,
but never stingy to spend your time on me.
I remember the beard on your face,
The grey hair starts to grow all over your head.
Now that I don’t live with you anymore.
Your words has always being in my head.
You have always given me support,
You helped me learn how to be a better man.
always there when I need you.
With you,
I can swim to my future.

My name

My name

My name
is that of a precious gem,
red as blood
and bright as a star.
It shines in the night’s sky
and hides in the day.
These are my stars and stripes
But that is not all of me.

My mother’s name is Cecilia
I am like Cecilia when I sway my hips from side to side
as I walk in her footsteps.
My tongue moves in the sound of my mother's voice
as it copies her words.

Her name reaches across
warm tamales and Subway sandwiches
She is more than I can hold between my arms.
My love for her can expand to the heavens and never end.
It is like the never ending line of numbers,

Her name adds
to my stars and stripes.
It shares the beauty
as mother and daughter do in reflection.
The beauty between the two is indescribable,
like the heavens and a rainbow

.
At school,
I am seen as red, white, and blue.
At home I am
spirited, strong, happy
warm
like tamales trickling with tangy Chile Verde
And that is still not all of me .

I am Felipe from

a quiet neighborhood with many homes and one apartment building awkwardly misplaced
To moving to a louder area with more apartments

I went from living right next to my school
To having to take a bus to go to my new school

from having best friends as neighbors
To having neighbors I don’t even make eye contact with

I am from Birthday Parties with all my friends
To just a cake and family

from sleeping at night without fear
To having to lock my doors

From parks with an isolated groups of people
to different ethnicities interacting with each other

I went from a quiet shy kid
To becoming more outgoing

I am from Mountain View
