Matthew L
Goal Keeper Save
When I do an amazing save everything slows down
The ball spinning in every direction slowing down every inch it gets closer to the goal, seeing every little stain of grass the ball has
The players faces, the different reactions in and off the field, the sweat tumbling down their cheeks
The smell of morning weather, the wet grass, parents coffee’s
Hearing cars passing behind me, parents screaming on the sideline, the pavement getting runned over by runners like a stampede of buffalo's
Now focusing on the ball like a tiger watching his prey
Waiting to pounce waiting for the right moment
Times ticking, people breathing like a rhino wanting revenge
The opponent's attacking us like Spartans not stopping till they win
Running towards our territory
The box, 18 yard line and a goal I’m trying to protect
Finally taking the kick
Me reacting like 1000 Romans
Protecting their city
Once I dived to the ball everything slows down
Me in mid air seeing every bone in my body stretch till you can see my bones popping out of my skin
feet cutting the grass as I leave the ground like a sword slicing through meat
Fingers strong as metal just tipping it sending the ball over the goal
Fans cheering like a volcano about to erupt
Heart pumping like if barca won the champions league
Picking myself up off the ground but still seeing everything slowing down
Like if my eyes were recording this moment
